Project Snapshot
Owner: Lidl
Location: Paramus, NJ
Project Type: Demo and grocery store fit out
Timeline: July 2024 – January 2025

Jayeff Construction completed the adaptive reuse of a new Lidl grocery store at 651 Route 17 in Paramus, New Jersey.

Construction began with extensive interior demolition of a former Modell’s Sporting Goods before the team completed a full supermarket fit out, including major façade work, site and utility improvements, new signage, and parking lot modifications.

Not everything went according to plan. During demolition, the team encountered black mold, deteriorated CMU, corroded utilities, and water main breaks. These obstacles required quick problem solving to keep construction moving. Despite the unforeseen conditions, the project was completed ahead of schedule.

Jayeff has extensive experience delivering both ground-up grocery and convenience stores, as well as fit-outs like this project, for leading brands. The Paramus project is another example of our work transforming vacant and dilapidated spaces into modern destinations.
